Police team attacked in Gaya, ASI injured
Gaya: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was seriously injured after allegedly drunk youths attacked a police team during night patrolling near Gewal Bigha Mor under the Rampur police station area in Gaya on Tuesday night. Two accused have been arrested in connection with the incident.According to a press release issued on Wednesday by SSP Sushil Kumar, ASI Vikram Paswan, posted at Rampur police station, sustained a fracture in his right arm and serious back injuries. He is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH). The arrested accused have been identified as Md Imtiyaz Alam and Meraj Alam.Police said Rampur SHO Dinesh Bahadur Singh, along with other personnel, reached the spot after receiving information that some intoxicated persons were creating a ruckus near Gewal Bigha. When the police tried to disperse and pacify them, the youths allegedly abused and attacked the police team.“An FIR has been lodged against five named and 15 unidentified persons. Police are scanning CCTV footage to identify other accused and are conducting raids to arrest them. The condition of the injured ASI is stated to be stable,” the SSP said.
